Year End Thankful Thursday

We have had a great year here at Cats by the Sea. We just wanted to share a few of the things we are thankful for on this final Thursday of 2009. We're thankful that we got to spend time with Mochy's Mom both here in Capitola and also in San Francisco this past October. Here she is on the roof on the SF Museum of Modern Art. We had a blast!

On that same trip, our Moms got to meet the grate (flat) Jeter Harris hizself and his fun Mom when she did the Susan Komen Three Day Walk for Breast Cancer Research. This is a photo of flat Jeter in Golden Gate Park.

Another highlight of 2009 that we are thankful for, and on that very same trip, our Moms got to meet a SUPERSTAR of the cat blogosphere! They got to meet the ACTUAL Skeezix the Cat! They also met the Food Lady, who arranged for three days of cheerleaders for the Komen Walk. Our Moms also spent time with the totally pawsome Guido the Italian Kitty's Mom who was a wonderful hostess in her hometown of San Francisco.

We're thankful we live in a beautiful place, Capitola by the Sea!

We hope 2010 brings all of you a year's worth of sunny spots,

And a year's worth of warm places to snuggle!

Wishing you all a healthy, happy and prosperous new year!

Wordy Wednesday

Today our Moms are painting the dining room. Which is really OUR room where this big cat tree USUALLY is. Needless to say, we are NOT amused. Everything had to be moved for the painting to happen. EVERYTHING.
We tried to climb on this weird metal cat tree but...

Let's just say that we won't be climbing on that big metal cat tree again anytime soon.

Jeez. Relax Mom. Roll in the catnip or something.
Hope everyone else is having a nice Wednesday and doing whatever they want without getting scolded by some cranky person wearing paint covered clothes.

Your Tuesday Tonkinese

Santa brought Raymond and I a Hepper Pod for Christmas.
Um, I wonder if they make these one size larger? Just sayin'.
It took a little work, but once you get in this thing, it's very comfy!

Hope your Tuesday is going well, even if you aren't Tonkinese!

Christmas Eve-Our 5th Gotchaversary!!!

Hello, Busby here. Today is the fifth anniversary of our Gotcha Day! My brother Raymond and I came to our forever home on Christmas Eve, 2004 when we were two months old. (our birthday is Oct 13, 2004) Our Moms met us when we were just ten days old. They knew right away that they would be adopting Raymond because they LOVE black cats, but it took awhile to decide which other kitten in our litter they would adopt. (I'm glad they picked ME!) They got to name all of us kittens (just three of us in the litter), and spent time with us everyday until they took us home. We were fostered just three doors down from where we live now by our "Auntie" Stephanie. She was fostering for Pacific Siamese Rescue.

We thought a little trip down memory lane would be fun. Of course, you can click on any of these photos to bigify them. We are kind of little!

Here we are with our Mom, Nell.
From left to right, Raymond, Busby, Leo and Nell.
We are about one month old in most of these photos.
Here's Busby on the left, then Leo, Nell and Raymond.
All these photos were taken at our Foster Mom's house.
We had our own room there!
We love you Stephanie!

Our Mom Nell was a great Mom. We were VERY hungry boys!
Raymond got his name right away, but Leo and I took awhile to name.
So in this photo, we are just Nell and the Nelltones.
Raymond was the runt of the litter, and always
got pushed to the farthest end of the milk bar.

Here we are on our turbo scratcher. We used to play with it and
then collapse in a heap of sleepy kittens! Can you tell who's who?

Here's Raymond with our Mom. He still had his blue eyes in this photo.

And here is our Mom watching over Raymond and I.
Our Mom Nell and our brother Leo were also both adopted and
have wonderful homes here in California.

We hope all of our friends out there in the interwebs have a
wonderful Christmas Eve, filled with love and laughter.

ps-these photos were taken by Roger Shellard,
who helped our foster Mom raise us.
Thanks Roger!

Mancat Monday

A real MANCAT doesn't mind putting on a Santa hat.
A real MANCAT is secure in his MANCATNESS
and will pose nicely for a holiday photo.
And then there's Raymond!

Happy Winter Solstice everyone!

Photo Hunters: FAST

Today's theme is FAST.

My brother Busby is fast, but I am SUPER fast.

Here I am playing with a toy and I am so fast
the camera lense cannot catch me! My claws are just a flash. I am so fast!

When you are very FAST (like me) sometimes you need to stop and catch your breath.
This toy is pretty fast, but not as fast as me!

Speaking of fast, the weekend sure seems to go by fast.

Hope you all have a great one!

Are you doing photo hunt today? Even it you aren't link your blog below and maybe you will have some new visitors today!

Feisty Frootbat Friday (fifth day of Christmas)

On the Fifth Day of Christmas behold the MIGHTY FROOTBAT.
He is about to attack his blue-eyed brother!
WHAP! SMACK! BOFF! BOOM!

What? Oh NO Mom, we weren't fighting!
We're just sitting here like two angels.

Whew! That was a close one. I think she bought it.

Everything is cool, Santa. Nothing to see here.

Just two VERY GOOD cat brothers calmly enjoying some quality time together.

Fourth Day of Christmas

On the fourth day of Christmas my Mom gave to me
A lovely lap to lay on!
By the way, have you all noticed that Busby has been a BLOG HOG all week? Jeez!

Your Tuesday Tonkinese (second day of Christmas)

On the second day of Christmas my humans gave to me...
Too much catnip!

Happy Tonkinese Tuesday everyone!

Mancat Monday (first day of Christmas)

On the first day of Christmas my Mom gave to me a container of organic wheat grass!
(A real MANCAT eats his greens. )
Happy Mancat Monday everyone!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

"The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugarplums danced in their heads."

We hope you are all having an EASY Sunday.

Saturday, December 12, 2009

This week's theme is "undesirable". At first we weren't sure we would be able to come up with a photo, but then we DUG into the archives.

Have a great Saturday everyone!
Raymond and I hope there is nothing "undesirable" about your weekend!

Frootbat Friday

Today is Frootbat Friday.
Normally I would be showing off my GINORMOUS frootbat ears today.

However, it has been so COLD here in Capitola

I need to keep my ears covered.

My Mom made this cool skull hat for a baby,
but I decided that it looks better on me.

Now my Mom and I have matching hats. Cool!

Happy Frootbat Friday everyone. Keep your ears warm!
