Frootbat Friday
Hello friends! Yes, it's me, Raymond, as a Frootbatette. I had blue eyes when I was a kitten and they eventually turned gold and green. Check out my frootbat ears! Even when I was little, I had good frootbats.
We want to tell all of our friends who will be impacted by Hurricane Irene that we are thinking of you. We are hoping that Irene takes a right turn and heads out to sea.
Mom found out today that they want her to start working full time. That is going to really cut into our blog time but we are going to try to continue to post M-F. We are all ready slacking in our commenting. Ugh! Why do humans need those green papers so badly?
Have a good weekend friends, and big purrs to our friends who live on the East coast of the US.
xoxo, Raymond

Thursday Garden Stroll
Hullo garden lovers! Are you ready to do a bit of strolling today? We only have a few new photos. Mom has been super busy at work. excuses excuses...
By far the brightest flower in the garden this week is this Zinnia! This is from a packet of Renee's Garden seeds called "Hot Crayon Color" Zinnias. We think it lives up to it's name!
Beautiful bright orange! |
We have Hollyhocks blooming this week too. Mom didn't plant any this year, these are all volunteers from last year. Our human Aunt in Cape Cod brought us some seeds two years ago and they continue to come up. One of them is about 8 feet tall!
Our Grandmother said she used to use Hollyhock flowers to make little skirts for her clothes pin dolls when she was a little girl. WAY back in the olden days |
Last but not least, the very first flowers that bloomed in our garden this season are still going strong! These Blue Ensign Morning Glories! We are loving how long these have lasted and they just keep blooming and blooming.
The bees love these! Thanks for strolling with us today friends! Don't forget to visit all of the other gardening felines today. |
xoxo, Raymond

Tuesday Tonkinese
Hi friends! Our Moms brought our "ESS" Scratcher out of hiding this past weekend. (as if we are going to be fooled into thinking it's NEW!)
I had to inspect it thoroughly. There was some fresh catnip on it and some Valerian root too. (nice touch, Mom.)
Hmmm, what's this? Some kind of dangle ball hanging off the ESS! (guess it's not neutered...)
Sorry this is blurry but I was trying to get this darn ball and I move super fast!
Wonder if I can fit under here?
Have a good day friends.
On a more somber note: Raymond and I join all of our friends in the blogosphere who are sending purrs to the family of Miss Peach today. We love you Miss Peach!

Thursday Garden Stroll
Oh Hai friends! Welcome to our Thursday garden stroll. We were just resting our eyes here in the sunny spot waiting for you to arrive. Are you ready to stroll? Let's go!
Shhh, Busby. Don't snore. I told them we were resting our eyes! The garden is in full bloom these days. Here is one of our glorious Cosmos. |
Pretty! |
Sunny Sunflower! The bees are certainly enjoying our Blue Ensign Morning Glories! We are surprised (and happy!) that they are still blooming, they were the first plants to bloom for us this season. |
Bzzzzzzzzz! |
Here are our Moss Roses. Mom planted them in the front flower box when it got too warm for the Sweet Peas. Aren't they pretty? We love all the different colors.
Moss Roses or Portulaca. |

Black Cat Appreciation Day!
Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! Our blogmom started appreciating black cats way back in 1985 when she rescued Alex from the county animal shelter.
Alex as a tiny baby mancat. |
Alex was an OLDE mancat age 19 when Busby and I came to live here in our forever home. I tried be be just like Alex, because us black cats always stick together.
Alex on the left and me on the right. He really liked that spot on the couch. |
Even when Alex was having the final stages of CRF and had to sleep on pee pads, I stuck by him.
Sometimes I even sat right on TOP of Alex, but he never complained or hissed at me. Black cats stick together through thick and thin!
So on this Black Cat Appreciation day, THIS black cat appreciates the black cat who came before. ALEX! He went to the rainbow bridge at the ripe olde age of 23. We miss you Alex!
Love and purrs, Raymond

Tuesday Tonkinese
Hi friends! It was unexpectedly warm here today. Not as warm as some of your weather has been, but hot for here. I had to get out of the sunny spot and find a nice shady spot on the recliner.
Ahhhh, that's better!
Have a pawsome Tuesday friends!

Mancat(s) Monday
See these kittens? These are two of the FOUR kittens that live at the place our Grandma lives at. The folks who run the assisted living are really nice, but they aren't much for spaying and neutering. Our Moms are talking to them about taking these kittens (and their MOM) to be fixed. These two guys still have their huevos rancheros. (if you know what we mean...) They are cared for and have food and shelter but we know their lives would be MUCH better if they were "fixed".
We sure hope our Moms can convince these folks to fix these cats before there are MORE kittens running around.
Have a good Monday friends! xoxo, Raymond & Busby (real Mancats are neutered!)

Thursday Garden Stroll
Hello friends! Welcome to our Thursday garden stroll. Are you ready to see how our garden looks this week?
Look deep into my eyes...now bend down and weed our garden! |
Our "Little Prince" container Eggplant got it's first blossom this week! We are stoked because we have never grown Eggplant before.
This flower will turn into an Eggplant that our Moms can eat! |
These are the Moss Roses (or Portulaca) that Mom planted in our front window box. They are one of her favorite flowers. They don't need much water and can take a lot of sunlight.
Pretty Portulaca! |
Here's a view of our backyard garden. That big Sunflower was planted by sloppy birds in our feeder. It's like getting free flowers!
Thanks sloppy birds! |
Our Cosmos are blooming like crazy now too. We have them in all different colors, but we especially like this shade, and so do the butterflies!
Purpley-pink? Thanks for strolling with us today friends! |

Bora Bora Day 2011
Instead of a garden post today, we are traveling with Gracie to Bora Bora! That will teach our Moms NOT to leave us behind when they travel to such exotic places as Indiana and New York!
Um, Busby, are you sure there is no room for me on that floaty thing? This box top is getting a bit damp!
Happy Bora Bora Day friends! xoxo, Raymond and Busby
