Very Wordy Wednesday: Our Sixth Birthday!

Hello friends! 

It all started with our Mom-cat, the beautiful Nell. Nell was rescued from an animal shelter in Northern California 

by Pacific Siamese Rescue. 

Nell was pregnant with US (and our brother Leo) 

when she was rescued. 

(This was discovered when they took Nell to get spayed.)

Here we are! Six years ago! Of course you can recognize Raymond. Busby is in the middle and Leo is on the right.

We moved to Capitola when we were tiny kittens and fostered by a friend of our Moms, Auntie Stephanie. Our Moms knew they were going to be adopting us, they even got to name us when we were tiny kittens! 

This is Busby's very first photo!

Here is tiny baby Raymond.  (Ray was the runt of the litter.)

This is Busby's adoption photo from the Pacific Siamese website. Our foster Mom always dresses up her adoptable kittens in colorful collars to make them even MORE alluring on the website. 

This is Raymond's adoption website photo. His eyes turned from blue to green to gold as he grew up. 

We had a great two months at our foster home! Our forever Moms came to visit everyday. They helped socialize Nell & Leo (our brother) too. They would come and play with us in our private suite at Auntie Steph's house. 

Auntie Steph was a great foster Mom. She used to keep things interesting by making us forts out of cardboard boxes! 

Our Moms always knew they were going to adopt ME because they love black cats.
 But they had to choose between Leo and Busby.
Busby and I were always playing together,
so they choose Busby!
(plus Busby totally charmed them with his blue eyes!)

Here we are the day we came to our forever home!
We were the best Christmas presents EVER!

as his points got darker and darker. 

Here's Ray, growing into his frootbatty ears!

Not much has changed! We still like to wrestle and play together!

We have never spent more than a few hours apart!
What lucky boys we are!
We also want to mention that our Mom, Nell and our brother Leo were both adopted and have wonderful forever homes too!

Pee Ess; This is our last post as five year old mancats!

Tomorrow is our 6th birthday!

Mancat Monday (True Confessions)

Hi friends. A REAL MANCAT is not ashamed to share personal information with friends, even if it could be a bit embarrassing.

 So here goes. I have been peeing on my Moms bed. Yep. It's true. About once every few days, I pee on the exact same spot on the bed. It's not medical. I've been checked out.

 I'm marking my territory.

I'm telling that stupid cat that walks through our yard

that these are MY MOMS.

Some people say it with words, cats say it with pee pee.

My Moms have done some research, and another reason for my wet and wild indiscretion maybe that there are some changes here at our house. Now that Grandma is living near by, my Moms are spending a lot of time with her and are not home as often. They are also a bit more stressed, which I maybe picking up on.

So, my Moms got a Feliway diffuser. I think it's called "Comfort Zone".  They put it in the bedroom where I have been marking my territory. Hopefully the happy pheromones will help me mellow out and realize that my Moms DO belong to me, without me wasting my pee by marking their bed.



Ironically, don't you think this looks a bit like a toliet?

Do any of you have Feliway experience? Has it worked for you? I won't wear a collar, so a "calming collar" is out of the question. I appreciated your insight! Thanks friends!

Easy Sunday

Hello friends! I'm having a VERY easy Sunday.

Photo Hunt: Stripes

Hello friends! Today's PhotoHunt theme is STRIPES. We thought some photos of our 

older sister, Tout de suite, 

would be purrrfect for this theme!  

(we called her Toot, 

but her nickname was Stripey.)

Our Mom adopted Toot in 1984 from a farm family who was giving away free kittens. Toot was the runt of the litter.
Like our Mom, Toot was from Northwest Indiana.

Toot moved with our Mom from Indiana to San Francisco in 1988. Toot loved to talk (A LOT) and she liked to have one drip of half and half every morning when Mom had her coffee. 

Doesn't Toot have great STRIPES? Toot was 20 years old with Raymond and I came to live here in our forever home. She ruled the house with an iron paw covered in velvet! She went to the bridge at the magnificent age of 22. Toot was the Queen!

Frootbat Friday

Hello friends! The BROTHER of the MIGHTY FROOTBAT here! Not sure where Ray is...cat box? window sill? Perhaps knocking things off the nightstands?

I would go look for Raymond,
but I am WAY too busy to go looking for him right now.

My frootbats will have to satisfy your frootbatty needs today!

I hope they are sufficient!

By the way friends, we're going to be doing a product review for the good folks at the CSN stores sometime in the next week or so. About a month after that (say, late November or early December) we will be giving away a nice CSN gift code,

just in time for Christmas!

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! Welcome to our Thursday Garden Stroll! The garden is starting to slow down since the days are shorter and the nights are cooler here in Capitola. Pretty soon it will be time for Mom to clean things up and put the garden to bed for the Winter. Meanwhile, here's what's happening today:

The ONE fig that we have on our Fig tree (it's more like a Fig Twig) has gotten bigger but it's no where near to being ripe. Will it ever ripen? Stay tuned...

This flower bloomed this week, and we have NO idea what it is. (Next year Mom won't throw away the empty seed packets, duhr.) We thought it was going to be a Sunflower, and it is the only flower on the whole plant.
It's pretty big, like Tulip-sized. Any ideas?

The Cosmos are pretty much the best thing going in our garden right now. This is what they look like through the bedroom window. 

As  you can see, they are thriving!

This color is our favorite. (um, Mom, time to clean the birdbath!)

The Japanese Maple has Spider Mites! Mom needs to get some dish soap and dilute it so she can spray the Maple tree. They are tiny little bugs but very destructive.
