Memorial Day

Hello friends! Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. Our Moms will be going to a service at at local cemetery today, to honor those men and women who gave their lives for us.

Busby and I would like to dedicate our blog post today to the two cats who came before us. This beautiful tabby girl is Toot Suite. She was our Mom's first cat. She was adopted from a family who were giving away kittens back in 1984. She was TWENTY years old when Busby and I came to live here at our forever home. She went to the bridge in 2006, at the age of twenty-two.

This handsome house panther is Alex. Mom adopted him from the Lake County Indiana animal shelter in 1985 when he was a wee kitten. Alex was a grand old mancat of twenty-three when he went to the bridge in 2008.

Purrs for our older siblings Toot and Alex & for all of the cats (and dogs) who came before in your families too. xoxo, Raymond

  2. Toote Suite and Alex were gorgeous! It's awesome that they lived such long lives. I hope Harley and I will get to be that old. Our Mommeh hopes good nutrition will help. Our Mommeh feels sad when she remembers the foods she fed the Cats-Who-Came-Before.

  7. What a very lovely post.

Toot Suite and Alex look like wonderful cats, and they sure lived good long lives!

Today, we are thinking of Ikkyu, #1's first cat, who went to the Bridge in 2007 at 15, and sweet Sen-Chan who left us in January last year, at 18 months.

  8. Toot and Alex were very special kitties! Thanks for letting us get to know them. My best friend and mentor, Jonathan, was in his twenties when he went to the Bridge. When kitties are that old they are super wise and wonderful.

  9. I bet Toot and Alex had a lot of stories to share with the two of you. We are amazed that they both lived into their 20's -- amazed and awed. That was such a blessing to your beans, and we know such a loss to them as well.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Happy Memorial Day
