Thursday with Ray: Our Garden

Hello friends! I was just gazing out the window thinking about our friend Jonesie . Oh you know Jonesie! Jonesie is the founder emeritus of the Society of Feline Gardeners.
Busby and I are indoor cats, but we do enjoy looking at our garden from the window and snoopervising our Moms through the window screen. We have a small house on a very small lot, so our Moms have to be creative when it comes to our garden.

As you can see, we do a lot of container gardening here. We also have three raised beds, with a new one in the works. This past weekend my Moms had to dig out one of the raised beds to add gopher wire to the bottom of the bed. Last year a gopher ate all our heirloom tomatoes and several hollyhocks!

This is a photo of our succulent section. Mom is trying to do a little rock garden thing here.

This is our newest raised bed. It's got a couple of pretend quail living in it.

Hmmmm. At least I THINK they are pretend! Maybe if I stare at them long enough they will move?

Have a great Thursday friends! Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers today! xo, Raymond
***Just a note: we moved our list of favorite blogs down lower on our page. It's gotten to be ginormous as we've made new friends. We wanted to make room for other items on our right margin. Please visit the blogs on our list! They are all fun places to visit.
**pee ess** some Chinese pornography web site just posted about a zillion comments on our older blog posts with links to their site. So now we have to start approving comments before they are posted. UGH! Oh well, it'll be easier than going back and deleted a bunch of garbage from our blog, like we did for the past thirty minutes!

  8. What a lovely garden you have! The PM wishes she had a smaller amount of space to work with sometimes as the more room you have, the more weeds you have! We'd love to do some conatiner gardening as it looks so pretty. Maybe once everything is de-weeded and super-duper mulched we'll give it a try.

    Wonderful tour!

I thinks those quails are really pretend live quails. But a kitty can has a pretend when he wants to!

  13. Attie, you do NOT want a gopher. Well, maybe a toy gopher but not a real one.

  23. Small gardens are good! They're good for getting creative juices going and your moms have done a great job making yours lovely and functional.

So sorry about the raid on your archives. What a bummer!

  24. Maybe she'll get you a harness, so you can check out the garden more!

  25. Your garden looks gorgeous. You must enjoy watching your mummy working out there! We do the same, it makes for excellent TV as our mummy is quite clumsy and we have this big mound which is quite steep like a hill and she always looks like she's about to topple over. mawhawhaw! Our daddy says she probably shouldn't try to climb it with only flip flops on.

We are furrowing our brows in disdain at those people who left junk on your comments page. That is no way to treat your blog! reowwww!

    Have a great weekend!
