Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! Welcome to the Thursday garden stroll. This is the first full day of Autumn and the garden is starting to look a bit raggedy. However, there is still a LOT going on out there. Let's take a look!

See? The Hummer is just waiting for a sip of nectar! They sit in this Ti Tree all the time. We have a bunch of Hummingbirds right now. We think there are five or six. They are very territorial about their food sources. (Like RAYMOND is about freeze dried chicken!)
On the front porch, our beautiful Hibiscus is blooming! The Hummingbirds love this plant. We love watching the Hummingbirds, so it's a win-win situation.

The Verbena is still blooming, Mom just has to remember to pinch it back once in awhile.
The Cosmos are looking good.
The great SUNFLOWERZILLA! We have to remember to get some of the seeds to plant next year.
We actually have some white Cosmos that have gotten taller than Sunflowerzilla! Can you believe it? Mom has never seen Cosmos get this tall.

Thanks for strolling with us today! Mom said a few swear words when she was doing this post, she's not used to the new blogger publishing tool yet. It kept moving our photos around. (Jeez, relax Mom!) Don't forget to visit the other Feline Gardeners today! xoxo, Busby

  1. Those sunflowerzillas are kind of scary. I hope they don't eat kitties!

  2. We have to agree that the sunflowerzilla is starting to look a little scary!

The hibiscus is VERY pretty! Mom went to a bar with a few co-workers a few days ago and there was a hibiscus beer that she tried and loved. Don't worry, we'll keep her away from your hibiscus!

  4. Your Mom has some pretty flowers. We only grow Petunias and other things (in a pot)that a Son brought and we get to see hummers occasionally.I wish we had sunflowers so I could see more birds....Kassey

  5. You have such a lovely garden and it still looks terrific. We'd love to have hummingbirds around; maybe mom will add some hibiscus next year. (By then she'll have forgotten, of course.)

BTW, that photo of you is wonderful!

  6. Jonesie said that kitties should not be afraid of sunflowerzilla just because he's big and all that. He's producing seeds for the birdies and for baby sunflowerzilla's next year. That makes her purrr.

  10. The garden is still beautiful...first day of Fall here and it's still 90 degrees! We are waiting for the cooler weather, so maybe the flowers will be happier.

  11. Wow, your garden still looks good. Ours is pretty much a lost cause now, except for Mom's 'mato plant which is producing more than they can eat.

  15. We love the hummers too! They've been coming around here alot lately too. Mom says it's because they are beginning their migration to their winter homes way down south. You're right about how territorial they are...we watch them fighting with each other. And the noise they make!! Wow!!
