Thursday Garden Flashback

Hello friends! Today we are going to do what some of our other gardening friends have been doing. We're going to flashback a bit. We're SO ready for Spring. Even though our weather has been good lately, it's still not warm enough at night to plant anything yet.

I am SO ready for Spring!

These photos are from September. Here's our Verbena that grew in our front flower boxes. Now our flower boxes have Mums in them that have been cut way back. Mom is thinking about planting Sweet Peas in the flower boxes this year. She's late. Sweet Peas here should be planted in November. Oops.
Mister Worm is smiling from the Verbena patch.

Ah, our Cosmos. We love these and so do the bees! Where the Cosmos grew last Summer there are some Hollyhocks coming up. We're not sure if they will make it, the gopher loves to eat Hollyhock roots. We plan to have more Cosmos this Spring.

We love the Cosmos.
Yay! Our little hummingbird. He likes to sit in the palm tree (It's called a Ti Tree) that we have on our front porch. Our hummingbird has been here all Winter. We keep our hummingbird feeder filled just for him. (and his friends)
The hummingbirds are fun to watch!

Thanks for flashing back with us! Make sure to visit all the other Feline Gardeners today. Just go to Jonesie's  blog and follow the links at the end of her post.

Have a great day everyone! xoxo Busby

  1. Hi there boys! Sunbeams make us purr, even if they are in flashback. Guess what, we meowed about you and your mom today (I mean Jonesie did because she visited Renees Garden website and was purring like crazy at what she saw).

We've just been reading abowt yoor mom's noo job and the ordering of seeds to help ferals, over at Cory's blog. So NEXT Thursday I'm gonna feature that in my gardening post (like Jonesie did today) to help promote it. It's such a wonderful idea. Mom doesn't do Facebook so we can't check up stuff on there though.

  9. Every year Mom tries to get hummingbirds to come to our feeder. We had one visit for about 5 minutes last year. We think being beachside might be the problem since there is almost always a breeze.

  12. Hi Raymond & Busby!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments recently and for coming to still visit me even though I couldn't return the favour! :-)

Sorry I've not been over to say hello for so long - we actually still don't have internet in our new home yet(!) - the stupid phone company says we have a problem with our line and won't be online till the first week of Feb! - so my humans have bought a little mobile WiFi but it's not superfast...but I'm slowly coming round to visit my friends now...

I've really been enjoying catching up with all your posts - especially all the sunbathing pictures! Ahh...you're kitties after my own heart! :-) And oh - I loved the matching "paw curls" - and I giggled at that Mancat photo - ooh la la!! :-)

You guys seem to be awfully good gardeners. My humans are useless. They kill everything they lay their hands on - so they're a bit worried now coz our new garden has lots and lots of pot plants which Hsin-Yi doesn't know how to look after! :-)

  13. *sigh*
That makes us pine for spring.
Right now everything is brown and the trees have no leaves. IT is definitely still WINTER here. Your post was a breath of spring.
