Hello friends! Welcome to the Thursday Garden stroll. We have a lot of activity in the garden this week, the weather has finally turned more seasonal here. Let's get going!
The flower bed is coming along. We had two inches of rain last Saturday (very unusual for California in June) and it helped nudge the flowers along. We planted Zinnias, Cosmos, Poppies and Morning Glories in this bed.
Look! In this close up you can see that the Cosmos are starting to actually LOOK like Cosmos!
Our "Hot Lips" Salvia is doing well too. The hummingbirds love this flower and we love to watch the hummingbirds. It's a "win win" situation.
We had to show you our Catnip. We have it in a hanging basket and it's a good thing because we get introoder cats in our yard all the time.
Did you notice the rose at the bottom of the catnip photo? Here is a close up of it. There were two rose bushes in our yard when we moved in. Mom has maintained them, even though they are not planted in very good spots for roses. This one is SO fragrant.
Thanks for strolling with us friends! Have a pawsome Thursday!
xoxo, Raymond
I am SO jealous, looking at everyone's catnip! Although I guess I should be grateful that my little sprigs are still alive and my human has not killed them (paws crossed!).
ReplyDeleteWot an enjoyable garden stroll we had. We love that Rose ~ but our favourite is the hanging Catnip plant. Awesome.
ReplyDeletegorgeous rose and we want cosmos too! Love Darcy and Bingley xx
ReplyDeleteSmart of you to hang your nip pot. You don't want those introoders to get all your nip!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely garden!
ReplyDeleteYou have wonderful seedlings and blooms! And your nip looks terrific -- far better than ours! LOL.
ReplyDeleteEverything is sure looking great...especially love that nip!
ReplyDeleteYour garden sure looks like a success!

PS - Sorry for having to post anonymous...google won't let us post otherwise. Crazy blogger!
Looks good! That crazy rain helped the plants a lot.
ReplyDeleteBusby and Raymond,
ReplyDeleteGREAT stroll through the garden and wow a BIG catnip plant. Mom found one for us, at the garden center she went to, there were only 2 catnip plants and both of them were near gone, She has managed to revive the one she bought and she picks the leaves off and brings them in for us. WE go nuts...yessiree we love having our own stash of catnip.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and purrs for my Daddy!
