Mancat Monday

Hello friends! Happy Monday! This is how I spent my Sunday, wedged on the couch between my Blog-Mom and the arm of the couch. Watching football. Lots and lots of football. Mom was bummed because the SF Forty Niners lost. Then she remembered that she is really more of a Chicago Bears fan, so she didn't feel too bad anymore.

As for me, I am on some weird pink antibiotic and some "anti spasmodic" capsule. And some delicious canned food that my Moms don't like because it makes my poop smell like the cat food. They didn't realize just how much they LOVED feeding Busby and I the homemade raw food until now. We don't know what they are griping about, because Busby and I love the new food. In about three more weeks it should have brought my alkaline level down a bit (a pee test will be given to both Busby and I, we are studying hard!) and then some decisions will be made about our food.

We can't find a raw food recipe that can be eaten daily that doesn't contain some grain. Our Moms would love to switch us to a high quality grain free food that isn't Royal Canin. They will listen to the vet and make a decision after my next lab results are in.

Jeez, I'm wordy lately. Did I mention all our furniture is covered with plastic now? I guess when you pee on the couch and the footstool and the bed they just don't trust you for awhile.

xoxo, Raymond

  1. We hope your next lab results are good. Plastic isn't fun but it's better than a soggy sofa!

  3. We will purr hard for good test results. We will be curious what foods would be a good substitute for SO since that is what we need to have for Cecilia. If there are other options we want to know too!

  5. Paws crossed for your test results!

Our mom had a former coworker who made her own raw cat food, probably still does, no grain at all.

    Have you looked at catinfo.org?

  6. Oh, the mom says another of her coworkers, before she found a raw food that worked for her IBD cat (frozen raw, no grain, at a local pet food store) she was making her own, but just using meat plus a purchased powder that had all the nutrients needed. She had to order the product from somewhere in B.C., can't recall what it was called, though.

    1. Well, Maggie Mae and Max, our Mom is a Chicago Bears and SF 49er fan so she was not very happy about our Niners blowing that game. She will be rooting for the Giants in the Super Bowl because she prefers the NFC over the AFC. Plus she likes Eli Manning's brother.

  12. Oh Ray, it looks like you had a great weekend wedged there! We hope the medicines and new foods help you and your pees. There's lots of really good grain free foods out there. We eat only grain free.

And what the heck happened to the Niners?? Our mom didn't want those Giant guys to win.

  13. Oh, the Humiliation of the Plastic! Sigh. *I* never pee anywhere I'm not supposed to (yet) but oh, my, one of the Kitties Who Came Before had a long spell of wanting to pee on the BED (::shudder::) You're a Good Boy Ray and as soon as you pass your test maybe the plastic can go.

We wuz nawt berree happy bowt the Niners neither. But then the Human remembered that she don't care nuffing bowt football (well, not since Joe anyway)--all she cares about is baseball!! Coming SOON!
