Thursday stroll

Hello friends! Our blog Mom has been home recovering from her surgery. We've been teaching her about naps. However, she has also been out walking everyday, so we have some stroll shots from our neighborhood to share. Enjoy!

Mom, you need to learn to relax completely...

We have been having a very warm and dry Winter here in Capitola. The flowers are very confused!

Confused daffodils
In this part of California we grow a LOT of artichokes. Did you know artichokes are members of the Thistle family? You can really tell they are thistles when you them blooming.

This Crocus seems to think that it is March and NOT January! We have been enjoying the warm sun but we really need rain. Last year at this time we had 13" of rain. This year we have 3/4 of an inch so far.

We hope you enjoyed this stroll around our neighborhood. Our garden has mustard and fava beans growing as a cover crop. Mom actually had to water it yesterday because it's so warm and dry outside.

Have a pawsome Thursday! Raymond and Busby

  2. This year's winter has been the total opposite of last year's - we had rain for weeks last January, and for this one, my human is already getting spring fever!

  6. Thanks for taking us on that stroll. We're always amazed to see flowers in January. And we've never seen artichokes growing in the ground!

  7. Our plants are confused too and we had a dry fall and now a very dry winter. We are very worried about what will happen to our garden with this crazy weather.

  10. I am pretty sure you are supposed to eat the fava beans with a fine Chianti. I am not sure how I know that...

  11. Better too warm too early than a terrible freeze! That's what happened to us last year and everybody lost a whole bunch of things.

  12. We hope your Mom learns to nap like you boys do ;)
We liked your garden tour and did not know that about artichokes :)
Our Winter has been warmer than normal and any snow we get is washed away by rain a few days later.Mind, it IS only January ;)

  13. The flowers are pretty but my Human says it's really creepy that there's no rain. We like rain. Maybe it will come later this month? You think?
