Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! Welcome to the Thursday Garden Stroll. It seems as though fat boy Busby has fallen asleep (on MY pillow) so I am going to take you strolling today. Are you ready?

Spring is definitely here and we are excited about this year's garden. These are Baby Butter Head lettuce. (lettuces?) They have grown quite a bit since we planted their tiny seeds.

Here are our Cupid Sweet Peas. They are perfect for containers and window boxes because they have little vines that only grow to be about 8-10 inches long. We have never grown these before, so we can't wait to see their blooms.

These are Chard seedlings. Check out the drip irrigation that our Moms installed! It will save water and make the plants grow too.

Here is our Portuguese Red Kale. It's pretty and it's good to eat.

I saved the BEST for last! Here is our Catnip plant! It lives in a hanging pot because there are some very nosey ROAMING feline gardeners in our neighborhood. After spending a very cold and wet Winter outdoors, our Catnip is making a big comeback.

Hope you enjoyed the garden stroll today! Don't forget to visit all the other Feline Gardeners. Just follow the links at the bottom of our friend Jonesie's blog. There were some NEW Feline Gardeners last week. It's never too late to join and you don't need to have a big yard (or even a yard at all) to garden.

Have a great Thursday friends! xoxo, Raymond (and sleepy Busby)

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hi friends! Welcome to the Thursday garden stroll! We have a bit of everything this week. The rain has finally stopped and we have had a sunny week, so let's see what's happening in the garden!

In our seedling nursery (aka the bedroom windowsill), we have recently transplanted the tomatoes into larger pots. These are "Super Bush" Tomatoes, and are excellent for growing in containers which is what we intend to do.

We also transplanted the eggplants seedlings this week. This is also a container variety. They are called "Little Prince". (Raymond insists these were named after him!)

Outdoors our Sweet Pea seeds are coming up! Very exciting! We love Sweet Peas.

This is our Garden Baby lettuce coming up. This is a good Lettuce to grow in containers and with our limited space, we do a lot of container gardening.

Last but not least, our Cupani Sweet Peas are blooming! These are volunteers from some Sweet Pea seeds we planted about three years ago. These have the best fragrance. A sure sign of Spring!! They happen to be coming up in a potted Palm tree.

Thanks for strolling with us today! Don't forget to visit our friend and Mentor Jonesie to see what all the other Feline Gardeners are up to. xoxo, Busby

Thursday Stroll in Capitola, CA

Hi friends! We're going strolling today. Not in our garden, which is still pretty much in Winter-mode, but in our little town of Capitola, CA.

Mom! No kisses now, we are trying to stroll here!

We had about two weeks of very warm weather, and as a result, the plum trees are starting to bloom!

These old fashioned roses are blooming just down the street from our house.

We have no idea what this is, it looks like some kind of hyacinth. Very pretty! (Do you know what this plant is?)

Here's our beautiful state flower, the California Poppy. We love these. They are everywhere here, they grow like weeds.

This is the Capitola Wharf, a few blocks from our house. You can see the high clouds starting to form. Rain came in this week and we had an inch of rain in our gauge this morning. We need it!

We hope you enjoyed today's stroll. Don't forget to drop by Jonesie's blog to see what the other Feline Gardeners are up to today.

Have a furtastic Thursday. Mom, you can start smooching on me now!   xoxo, Busby
