I got my lab results. My PH was down to 7.5 (it was 8.0) and there were still some crystals in my, uh, "sample". Normal PH is 7.0. My Vet is recommending prescription food, but she acknowledged that since I wasn't blocked when my Moms first brought me in, that this is a grey area for her. In her experience, every cat who she sees who is blocked by crystals gets blocked again if they don't go on a prescription diet. Sooooo, my Moms are going to tweak my raw food diet a bit and continue to give me the Carpon (cranberry) supplement. They are going to add extra water to my food too. We will have my pee rechecked in a month or so.
By the way, our Mom plays golf on Thursdays. She's in a league. So we are sorry if we didn't get to visit you yesterday. We think golf is silly! xoxo, Busby
You have beautiful footbats, Busby!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are managing to hold off the prescription diet and we hope that the PH will be down to 7.0 next time around.
Busby: I'm glad you numbers are down! And you don't have to go thru that stuff for awhile!
ReplyDeleteGolf? Hmm. Do you get to play with the balls in the house?
You and Raymond make sure you humans forget about golf and love all over you!!

Well, it's good that your numbers went down! We hope your next sample is just purrfect!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad your numbers are down, that is a good sign.
ReplyDeleteLovely frootbats!
Our Mom is not fond of the prescription diets for pee problems either and feeds us raw. Do you have a water fountain? Samson drinks much more water since we got that. He loves it! We hope you feel better soon, Busby!
ReplyDeleteVery good news your numbers are down...We love your mancat frootbats,, Busby!...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteGood goin' Bus. You can probably get those numbers lower if you keep up with the supplements. Maybe some fluids would help too.

We're glad your numbers are lower. We hope the Carpon and extra water get you down to 7.0.
ReplyDeleteTamir wanted to thank you for stopping by on his birthday. You helped make his day extra special!

Busby, we are happy to hear your PH has improved, and we hope that it will continue to improve. Hey, we're proud of you dudes as it sounds like you taught your mom to chase balls also!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have super~groovy FrootBats, Busby! Glad to hear your PH is down a little, but sorry you have to switch up your diet a little bit! Your mommy just wants you well...Our mom SUX at golf...Mini~Golf is her thing! MOL
ReplyDeleteBusby, those are great ears!! Glad your sample is improving at least...i'm sure you'll get your diet all tweaked.
ReplyDeleteMelvin is on a special diet for crystals, also. We hope that all goes well with the new diet, dear Busby! You look very beautiful in your pictures!
ReplyDeleteRe your comment/question: We have a Catit Small Drinking Fountain by Hagen. We like the small one because it's flowing water but without any noise or splashes like most fountains so we both used it right away!
ReplyDeleteTo see what it looks like, here's an old video of Samson drinking from ours: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmDAjQASJKM
Hope that helps!
Keep up the low numbers, Busby!
Well Busby, I'm having a hard time seeing the frooty ears cos It's your gorgeous eyes I keep focusing on! Crystals are weird & elusive. Mine come & go and my bi-bed just throws her arms up and mutters things like "Prescription diet=crystals; no prescription diet=crystals.. raw diet?" to which I say; raw diet? are you kidding? when i sneak out i get all the nourishment I need (sometimes), what IS her problem? I ain't eatin' any of that human food!

Those are some great frootbats. We are glad to hear you numbers are down. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am glad your tests are better.
ReplyDeleteYour ears are HUGE and very frootybatty. My mom ice dances at a rink. I think that is a silly thing to do too.

I'm so glad to hear that you're on the road and close to the right pH. And I'm sure that our raw food is better than any prescription diet.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive frootbat!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the diet troubles... hopefully your moms will get it all figured out for you! I'm with you on golf. I don't get it. Plus, I'm scared of the balls. (hardwood floors in the townhouse, you know.)
ReplyDeleteHappy Super Bowl Weekend!
