Thursday Garden Tour with Busby and Raymond

Hello friends! It's been another up and down week in the garden! As you know if you saw our post from Monday, the GOPHER made a meal of our mystery plant! However, many GOOD things are happening in the garden too. So let's start our tour! This lovely vine is called a Mandevilla. We've had it for a couple years now, growing on the front of our house. They usually don't do well where the winters get frosty (and we do get some frosty nights here in the Winter). However, ours is facing the South and is VERY close to the street, so it gets some good radiant heat. Each year we keep our fingers crossed that it will start to bud out in the Spring. So far, so good!

Here are a couple containers of Petunias that we have in the backyard. They seem VERY happy!

The Zinnias continue to bloom too. Mom has cut a couple small bouquets from them. They are attracting lots of butterflies and ladybugs.

GREAT news about Sunflowerzilla! The gopher has not managed to eat it (yet)! It just keeps growing and growing!

AND LOOK! Sunflowerzilla's bud has begun to OPEN! We are SO excited!

Here's a close up of the soon-to-be-flower! Next Thursday we should be posting a photo of a beautiful sunflower!

We'll close with this little bit of happiness, even though the dreaded gopher ate the mystery plant, we have two more in the garden! So we HOPE that they get to bloom so that maybe we can figure out what they are. (with the help of our feline gardener friends, of course!)

Happy Thursday friends! Make sure you stroll around the blogosphere and visit the other Feline Gardeners today. xoxo, Raymond and Busby
