Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! Spring has finally sprung here. We don't have many photos of our own garden this week, but we did do some local strolling...

Here's the one photo from our backyard. It's our salvia "Hot Lips". Starting to look very happy!

Here is a lovely shot our our beautiful state flower, the California Poppy. We see zillions of these everywhere here.

When our Moms went to the Farmers Market this week, they had cherries! Mom couldn't resist getting a photo. YUM!

Mom saw this but wasn't sure what kind of flower it is. Some kind of daisy maybe? She has no idea.

Thanks for strolling with us friends! Don't forget to check out the other Feline Gardener's today.

Our adoptive Grandmother Gen passed away yesterday afternoon. We maybe taking a few days off from blogging to stick close to our two Moms, who are grieving Gen's loss. We'll be back!

Twofur Tuesday

Um, Mom, we REALLY need a bigger pillow!

We hope everyone is having a pleasant Tuesday. We are sad about our friend Sweet Praline, but we know we will meet again someday.

Friends, please say a little purrayer for our dear friend Gen Fillmore, who's struggle with cancer is nearing an end. She has been a second Mother to our two Moms and they are sad to lose her.

Mancat Monday

Hi friends! You know, as an incredibly MANLY mancat, I think one of the most macho things you can do is LOVE flannel jammies with little pink rose buds on them. Don't you agree?

Mmmmmm, flannel jammies....*sigh*.

Have a good start to your week, xoxo, Raymond

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! Busby here (with Raymond in the background). Are you ready to take a short stroll in our garden? Rain kept Mom from getting more than one outdoor photo today. (like she's going to melt or something!) So without further ado, let's stroll!

We thought you might want to see how our seedlings are doing. This is the Little Prince eggplant. We have started the process of "hardening" these seedlings off. That means they get to go outside on the porch during the day, so that they get used to living outdoors.

Here are our Super Bush tomatoes. They have started spending the day outdoors too. (well, not today, because it was chilly and rainy) Pretty soon when it warms up here at night, we will be transplanting these outside. They are doing great!

The lone photo Mom got of our outdoor garden is this shot of our Garden Babies butter-head lettuce. They are starting to get bigger and bigger. That is a fake George visiting the lettuce. (Very funny Mom.)

Thanks for strolling with us today, friends! Don't forget to check out our pal Jonesie's blog to see what the other SFG members are up to. Just follow the links at the bottom of Jonesie's post.

Have a pawsome Thursday! xoxo, Busby and Raymond (in the background)

Your Tuesday Tonkinese

Hello friends! Mom has been busy lately, and has a zillion LAME excuses as to why there are no NEW photos of me to post today. So here is a golden oldie from January 2005 when I was 15 months old.

I think this is my "What do you mean there are no more treats?" face. I started working on that face real young.

Happy Tuesday everyone! xoxo, Busby

Mancat Monday

I'm NOT ready for Monday!

Hi friends, for those of you who asked, the term "Rode hard and put up wet" refers to a horse who was ridden hard and put away wet without drying him or brushing him out. Basically, it means you are looking pretty rough. It's a term our Mom grew up hearing in Indiana, so we guess it's an American Midwest term. So now you know!

Have a pawsome Monday friends! I'm continuing my easy Sunday...

Photo Hunt: Road

Hi Friends! This week's Photo Hunt theme is "Road". Our Mom took this photo of a road on her way home from work. (she was really photographing the clouds but the road snuck into the shot.)

Here's a photo of me after playing with the Neko Fly. Mom said I look like I was "RODE hard and put up wet". I guess that's a whole different kind of road!

Happy weekend everyone! xoxo, Busby

Frootbat Friday

I look a little hissed-off, don't I?
My frootbats are almost as impressive as Raymond's, don't you think?

Happy Friday friends! xoxo, Busby

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! Welcome to the Thursday Garden Stroll. It seems as though fat boy Busby has fallen asleep (on MY pillow) so I am going to take you strolling today. Are you ready?

Spring is definitely here and we are excited about this year's garden. These are Baby Butter Head lettuce. (lettuces?) They have grown quite a bit since we planted their tiny seeds.

Here are our Cupid Sweet Peas. They are perfect for containers and window boxes because they have little vines that only grow to be about 8-10 inches long. We have never grown these before, so we can't wait to see their blooms.

These are Chard seedlings. Check out the drip irrigation that our Moms installed! It will save water and make the plants grow too.

Here is our Portuguese Red Kale. It's pretty and it's good to eat.

I saved the BEST for last! Here is our Catnip plant! It lives in a hanging pot because there are some very nosey ROAMING feline gardeners in our neighborhood. After spending a very cold and wet Winter outdoors, our Catnip is making a big comeback.

Hope you enjoyed the garden stroll today! Don't forget to visit all the other Feline Gardeners. Just follow the links at the bottom of our friend Jonesie's blog. There were some NEW Feline Gardeners last week. It's never too late to join and you don't need to have a big yard (or even a yard at all) to garden.

Have a great Thursday friends! xoxo, Raymond (and sleepy Busby)

Your Tuesday Tonkinese

Hello friends! I'm just hanging out today. Of course Mom is going to look closely at this photo and realize that I need my clawrs cutted. I'm not a big fan of the claw-clippers.

Maybe if I just stay up here she won't be able to reach me? Hee hee!
I hope you are all having a lovely Tuesday. xoxo, Busby

Shabby Chic Day!

Hi friends! Happy Shabby Chic Day! Our friends Milo and Alfie are sponsoring this day dedicated to how we CATS like to REMODEL our living spaces.

Here's a lovely makeover our our puss-print chair done by Busby. (with a bit of help by Raymond) The chair was much too "stuffy",  so Busby loosened it up a bit by shredding it with his clawrs.

Busby has been thinking seriously about doing some work on the new carpet too.

This is a design by Raymond. He prefers SHAG carpet, so he has been working hard to make this area rug into a shag.

I really purr-fer the feeling a shag under my paws, Mom!

We hope you enjoyed our shabby chic offerings. Don't forget to visit the other bloggers who are showing off their shabby chic today.

Photo Hunt: Trees

Today's Photo Hunt theme is TREES. We have a tree in our house. It's a cat tree, and we love it!

We live in a place where some of the most wonderful trees in the whole world grow. These are Redwood trees. Mom took this photo right outside her dentist's office in Boulder Creek, CA.

Later this month, on April 29, it's Arbor Day. That's a great day to plant a tree. Or hug a tree. We plan to hug our cat tree that day.

Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo, Raymond and Busby

Frootbat Friday

Hi friends! I'm in a playful mood today! I'm looking forward to our Moms spending some QUALITY time with Busby and me this weekend. Hey Mom, where's the Neko fly?!

Now that Mom's elbow has been fixed, she has NO excuses! Let's frolic like FROOTBATS!

Happy Friday everyone! xoxo, The Might Frootbat aka Raymond

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! Welcome to our weekly garden stroll. We don't have a very thrilling stroll this week. Mom didn't get around to taking many photos. Something about going back to work, getting her stitches out, blah blah blah. (humans! sheesh!)

The only real news this week is that our Moms laid down some drip irrigation in our vegetable beds. It's a good way to conserve water and get water right to the root of the plants. Plus weeds don't grow as much because they aren't getting any water.
The other news is that we got this metal rooster to keep an eye on our plants. He's pretty cool. We're trying to think of a name for him. Any suggestions?

That's it for this week. (yawn!) Hopefully we will have more actual PLANT photos for you next week! xoxo, Busby
