Oh HAI, friends! Are you ready for today's garden stroll? Today is really a stroll through time, because we are going to follow our eggplant as it grows up!
|
I'm waving "HAI"! |
Back in April we started some seeds indoors for a container Eggplant variety called "Little Prince". Here it is a few weeks after it germinated.
|
Baby Eggplant. Do they call them hatchlings? On account of the whole egg thing... |
We waited until the temperatures were consistently in the 50's overnight and then we transplanted our seedlings outdoors.
|
They have very big leaves. We wish they were catnip. |
Soon our eggplants were thriving and they grew to be about 2 - 3 feet tall with pretty purple flowers.
|
They have prickly leaves with thorns on them. Very weird. |
Then yesterday we discovered this! Our first little eggplants are forming! We are VERY excited! We've never grown eggplants before.
|
Our little purple eggplant! |
Mom says we can't eat them, but they sure look like they might be fun to whap!
Thanks for visiting friends! Don't forget to check out the other Feline Gardners. xoxo, Raymond
