Mancat Monday-Looky What We Got!

YAY! Now that Mom FINALLY has a job after being unemployed for TEN months, she has a bit of money to spend on important things, like a Neko Fly toy for us!

Mom chose the "Kittenator" fly. It's furry.

Nom nom nom.

Activate lasers!

Raymond is so fast he's a blur!

Must. Kill. Neko Fly.

My turn!

Mmmmm. Neko Flies are tasty.

Sorry our photos are so fuzzy. Ancient camera. Maybe Mom's next splurge should be a new camera.

Don't forget to visit our post from yesterday and leave a comment. We are giving away a $75 CSN gift code. Sorry friends, but CSN currently only ships to the US and Canada. Contest deadline is Tuesday February 1st at 5pm Pacific time. Winner will be announced on Ground Hog day.

Hope you have a FUNday Monday! xoxo, Raymond and Busby

Frootbat Friday

Hello friends! Behold the mighty frootbat! It's been kind of rough adjusting to our Mom being at work all day.  The job she had before this one was a job she telecommuted to. This is the first time in our lives that no one has been home with us for most of the day.

Is it Friday yet?

On the other hand,  Mom working means she has a bit more cash flow, which means more treats for Busby and I!

Happy Friday friends! xoxo, Raymond

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! We have just a short garden stroll for you today, but we think you will enjoy it. Shall we?

Will there be treats after this stroll?

We know so many of our friends are having a cold and snowy Winter. We wanted to give you a glimmer of hope that Spring is on it's way! This Calla Lily is blooming in our side yard! Mom took this photo yesterday.

We are having record high temperatures here in Capitola. It was 73 degrees yesterday!

These Cosmos are also blooming in our yard! These are volunteers that sprang up in a pot where our Mandevilla vine grows. See the peanut next to the Cosmos? The squirrels have been hiding nuts in our containers for months.

Spring must be on it's way!

Thanks for joining us on our garden stroll today! Visit our friend Jonesie to see what the other Feline Gardeners are up to. Just follow the links at the bottom of her post.

By the way, this is our 450th blog post! Wow! No wonder our paws are so tired! (MOL!) We hope you enjoy reading our blog as much as we enjoy meowing it to you everyday.

Your Tuesday Tonkinese

Hello friends. I'm in a meditative mood today...

Feelin' mellow!
...Perhaps because I have my nose pressed up against this primo catnip stuffed quilt. Mmmmm. Nice.

Hope you are all enjoying a relaxing Tuesday too. xoxo, Busby

Mancat Monday

Hi friends! We had a big day yesterday, so we are sleeping it off today. The Chicago Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers. Our Mom was "all bummed out", whatever that means. (is this the 1970's or what?!)

We have TEN entries (as of this posting) in the Kitteh category of the Mango Minster 2011 Dog and Cat Show. We have room for ten more entries before the 30th of January. If you haven't entered yet, please do! And make sure you go to the contest blog and check out the other entries, because there will be a reader's choice competition. You can also see what goes on at Mango's estate during this exciting contest!

Happy Monday! xoxo, Raymond and Busby

Easy Sunday?

Hi friends! It's not a typical easy Sunday here today. Our Mom's favorite football team, the Chicago Bears, are playing in the NFC Championship. (Raymond and I have NO idea what the heck that means. Does the winner get treats?)

It's going to get really noisy around here during the game. I wonder if I can cover my ears with my legs?

Have a good Sunday friends! Go Bears!

Photo Hunt: Hands

Hello friends! Today's  theme is HANDS. This is one of our all time favorite photos of a hand. It's our Pacific Siamese Rescue Foster Mom Stephanie hand feeding us solid food for the FIRST TIME ever! The date of this photo is November 13, 2004. We were exactly four weeks old.

Our brother Leo on the left and Busby on the right.
Weaning us from our Mom Nell was a big step towards sending us here, to our forever home! We love our solid foodables!

Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo, Busby (and Leo, who lives in Southern California)

Frootbats on Friday

Mom, we don't care that you worked today and then went to physical therapy for your elbow. We don't care that the physical therapist is referring you to an orthopedic specialist. Your whining is falling on deaf frootbat ears.

We want our freeze dried chicken treats!!!
Jeez. You would think that her elbow was broken or something!

Happy Friday friends! xoxo, Raymond and Busby

Pee Ess: Mom is bummed out because the PT thinks her arm may be more injured than the doc at the ER originally thought. Sometimes x-rays taken right after an injury don't show everything. (too much swelling) However, she is going to have some acupuncture done on Monday, and will make an appointment with an Orthopedic doctor for this coming week. She's FINE! Just because she can't play golf she's all pouty. Jeez. Get over it Mom!

Thursday Garden Flashback

Hello friends! Today we are going to do what some of our other gardening friends have been doing. We're going to flashback a bit. We're SO ready for Spring. Even though our weather has been good lately, it's still not warm enough at night to plant anything yet.

I am SO ready for Spring!

These photos are from September. Here's our Verbena that grew in our front flower boxes. Now our flower boxes have Mums in them that have been cut way back. Mom is thinking about planting Sweet Peas in the flower boxes this year. She's late. Sweet Peas here should be planted in November. Oops.
Mister Worm is smiling from the Verbena patch.

Ah, our Cosmos. We love these and so do the bees! Where the Cosmos grew last Summer there are some Hollyhocks coming up. We're not sure if they will make it, the gopher loves to eat Hollyhock roots. We plan to have more Cosmos this Spring.

We love the Cosmos.
Yay! Our little hummingbird. He likes to sit in the palm tree (It's called a Ti Tree) that we have on our front porch. Our hummingbird has been here all Winter. We keep our hummingbird feeder filled just for him. (and his friends)
The hummingbirds are fun to watch!

Thanks for flashing back with us! Make sure to visit all the other Feline Gardeners today. Just go to Jonesie's  blog and follow the links at the end of her post.

Have a great day everyone! xoxo Busby

Toothy Tuesday

Hi friends! Can you see my FANGS? Maybe just barely because of that bright sunny sun on my face. If you look close you can see the little cluster of white furs on my neck too. Oh yeah, I'm the complete package!

I hope you are all having a great Tuesday! Mom started her new job yesterday and she likes it. (which is great news for EVERYONE!)

Mancat Monday-Exhausted!

OMG friends! Raymond and I are both exhausted from our work as judges in the Mango Minster 2011! Not only do we have to do our judge stuff, but Mango actually has us doing ODD jobs in the basement of his estate! (click on the MM 2011 link to read all about it.)

To top it off, yesterday we had a new entry in the Kitteh category. Can you believe THIS?! Yes. This is Stuffed Kitteh. The latest entry in the Kitteh category. It appears that Stuffed Kitteh is being mauled by Mango and his pee wee brother Dexter.

Friends! We only have six entries in the Kitteh category so far. If you haven't entered yet, please do. Let's represent the CATblogosphere proudly in Mango Minster 2011! Do you really want a drool-soaked STUFFIE to possibly take the title this year?

Have a great Monday friends, and come on! Submit an entry!

Easy Sunday

Hi friends! Can you tell we are brothers? Right down to the paw curl.

Have a great Sunday everyone! We will be listening to our Mom yell at the TV while she watches her Chicago Bears play the Seattle Seahawks. GO BEARS!

Mom starts work tomorrow, while Non-Blog Mom has the day off for the Martin Luther King holiday. We're glad at least one of our Moms will be home!

Frootbat Friday with Special Guest: Pixie!

Hello friends! The Mighty Frootbat here! I hope you like this semi-profile shot of my ginormous frootbats! As Monty Python would say, and now for something completely different...

This is Pixie! She's a six year old Boston Terrier. She belongs to one of the women who works where my Mom is having her physical therapy. (for her poorly arm-as Milo and Alfie would say) Pixie has some pretty sorry excuses for frootbats. We don't know much about dogs. Is this a breed thing? Do they actually still "dock" doggie's ears? If you know, let us know.

We do think Pixie is super cute. Even though she was kinda gassy when Mom took this photo. She actually farted and then kinda made a snorty sound and got up and ran away, leaving Mom engulfed in her stinky gas. Ha ha ha!

Happy Friday friends! We only have five entries (as we post this) in the Kitteh category of the Mango Minster 2011, so get your entry in by January 30th. Only the first twenty entries are accepted. Click on the MM logo in our top right margin to enter.

Thursday Dibs and Dabs

Hello friends! For those of you who saw the mousie sneaking up on Raymond earlier this week, this was the outcome!

Just keep your voice down mousie and let me nap! I am a very busy Judge these days.

In other news, lovely payola packages have been arriving at our house ever since the news broke that we are judging the Kitteh category of Mango Minster 2011 !
Oooh, Tiffany! Crystal bowls for we esteemed judges to eat from, no doubt!

Somecat (we won't mention any names) sent us 30 bags of Greenies! You can see Judge Busby was stunned by such a generous bribe, er, uh, GIFT.
Wow, this cat's entry in the Mango Minster just started moving way up in the rankings.
Finally, in news of a personal nature, our blog Mom finally got a job! Yes, after ten months of virtual unemployment our Mom had a second interview yesterday at Renee's Garden Seeds and GOT THE JOB! She will be their Data Entry Specialist. Word is she gets to bring home whatever seeds she wants. Our Thursday garden reports should be a lot more colorful this year!

All in all, a great day! Hope you are enjoying your Thursday too. Don't forget, only the first twenty entries can compete in each category of the Mango Minster. We look forward to seeing your bribes entries. As judges, we cannot comment on the entries but we are reading them as they come into Mango-Central.

Our Big Announcement!

Hi friends! The other day we got a call from our friend Mango . He was talking to us about the BIG Dog Show he puts on each year, The Mango Minster .

Hey Mango, you look great on our iPad.

Mango told us that this year, for the first time EVER, there is a "Kitteh" category in the Mango Minster!

Did you guys see Glee last night? Oh, I want to ask you guys something...

Guess what? Mango asked us if we would like to be the judges of the Kitteh category in Mango Minster 2011! It's a HUGE honor and one that we are taking very seriously. (as you can tell by our powdered wigs.)

We hope that all of you will get your entries in! The deadline is January 30th, 2011 and only the first TWENTY entries will be accepted in each category. Please go to The Mango Minster 2011 website for all the information you need to enter.

We are very excited to be judging the "kitteh" category and we look forward to reading your official entry posts!

Have a great Wednesday friends!
xoxo, Judge Raymond and Judge Busby

Our Wednesday Post will be later than usual...

Hi friends! Are we sleeping on the job? Nope! Our Big Announcement post is going to go live a bit later than our usual posts. Look for it at 4:40am EST.

Hmmm, so actually, I guess we are sleeping on the job just a little bit! See you later! xoxo, Busby

Two-fur Tuesday

Hello friends! Even though our weather is chilly, we actually have some Winter sun. It does not last long and it is not very strong, so the two of us have to enjoy it while we can.

So cold we're covering our toes with our tails!
Just two brothers trying to get our rays on a chilly Winter's day. Thanks for opening the door so the sun can come in Mom!

xoxo, Raymond and Busby

ps: Stay tuned for a BIG announcement on Wednesday!

Mancat Monday

Hello friends! Happy Mancat Monday! I found this great sunny spot, with just the right amount of shade to protect my delicate golden eyes from glare.

I'm also playing it cool because there is a mousie sneaking up behind me and in a moment I am going to POUNCE!

Have a great Monday everyone! xoxo, Raymond

Easy Sunday

Hi friends! Our friend Douglas is visiting this weekend from San Francisco. (just 90 miles to the north of here) Douglas has the nicest lap. His legs are SO much longer than our Mom's legs are, making for a very roomy lap.

Ooh Douglas, your lap is just dreamy.

Doug also brought a couple gifts for us. Smart guy, that Douglas! I may not crawl into his lap like Busby (the giant suck-up) but I do like this pink lobster he brought us.

I like this lobster but I'm not getting in just anyone's lap.

Hope you are all having a good Sunday too, full of good laps and good toys. xoxo, Raymond and Busby

Caturday

Hello friends! We're just chillin' on a Caturday with our Nip Banana. We got a new toy box for Christmas, and in the process of moving from the old toy box to the new, we RE-discovered some of our old toys. You can tell we LOVE our old nip banana, because it's got a big old drool stain on it. Mmmmmm.

Hope you are all enjoying a good Caturday. Our friend Doug is visiting us this weekend from San Francisco. Will we let him play with our nip banana? Nope!

Frootbat Friday

Behold the Mighty Frootbat! I am high upon my refrigerator perch. I can keep an eye on my entire Frootbatdom from here.

I can also knock down boxes of cereal if I decide I need more room on my perch. Hey, these frootbatty ears need lots of space!

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your perch has plenty of room.

Thursday Garden Stroll

Oh hai friends! You caught me relaxing here on the cat tree. The blinds make a great paw rest. Are you ready for a very quick stroll in our garden?

This is the one plant that is actually looking good right now. It's a fuchsia with the absolute tiniest blooms you have ever seen. Amazingly, the hummingbirds love to drink from these tiny blossoms.

Our English Bells are being eaten by some kind of bug. We thought it was snails, but look at the tiny holes in the leaves. Now we aren't sure what is eating these. Whatever the pest is, it is also eating our Pansies.

Unfortunately, Mom's photos of the Pansies looked way too blurry so she refused to post them. (jeez!) Hopefully some of the other members of the Society of Feline Gardeners have some photos of their gardens today. Visit the President of the Society, Jonesie , and follow the links at the bottom of her post.

Oh, by the way, our blog Mom saw her regular doctor yesterday to follow up on the nasty fall she took last week. He said her elbow is still very inflamed, something about her medial epicondyle, whatever that is. She will start PT next week and should be as good as new soon. Thanks for all the purrs!

Have a good Thursday, xo, Busby
