Thursday Garden Stroll

Hi friends! Welcome to the Thursday garden stroll! We have a bit of everything this week. The rain has finally stopped and we have had a sunny week, so let's see what's happening in the garden!

In our seedling nursery (aka the bedroom windowsill), we have recently transplanted the tomatoes into larger pots. These are "Super Bush" Tomatoes, and are excellent for growing in containers which is what we intend to do.

We also transplanted the eggplants seedlings this week. This is also a container variety. They are called "Little Prince". (Raymond insists these were named after him!)

Outdoors our Sweet Pea seeds are coming up! Very exciting! We love Sweet Peas.

This is our Garden Baby lettuce coming up. This is a good Lettuce to grow in containers and with our limited space, we do a lot of container gardening.

Last but not least, our Cupani Sweet Peas are blooming! These are volunteers from some Sweet Pea seeds we planted about three years ago. These have the best fragrance. A sure sign of Spring!! They happen to be coming up in a potted Palm tree.

Thanks for strolling with us today! Don't forget to visit our friend and Mentor Jonesie to see what all the other Feline Gardeners are up to. xoxo, Busby

Three Word Wednesday

Nurses on duty.

PS: Mom overdid it on Monday so we insisted she take it easy yesterday. She had no choice but to rest, as you can see!

Tail and Toes on Tuesday

Hi friends! I thought you might want to see the tip 'o my tail and some toes on Tuesday. Nurse Raymond here. Mom went back to work today, but the doctor says she can only work four hours a day this week. She's eager to get back to work. Surgery costs a lot of green papers. Look how happy I am to be in a SUNNY spot! We have had 21 days of rain in March, and finally we are getting some sun.

We know some of you have seen our little town, Capitola, CA, on the network news or the Weather Channel lately. Yep, flash flooding just three blocks down the hill from our house has wiped out some local residents and damaged many little shops in our tourist town. Mom took this photo of what is left of Pacific Cove Mobile Home Park on Sunday.

We are safe here, and we appreciate everyone's concern.

Now I have to go watch the clock to make SURE Mom doesn't work longer than she is supposed to today.

Mancat Nurse Monday

Nurse Busby here. This is the face I used on Mom this morning when she was considering going to work.

You need at least one more day to recover, Mom! Now get that ice pack out and elevate that elbow. Gentle stretching exercises to begin later today.

Easy Sunday

Nurse Busby here, repurrting directly from our blog-Mom's lap. The surgery went well. It lasted 45 minutes longer than the surgeon had anticipated because when he went into Mom's elbow with his teeny tiny arthroscopic camera he found a lot of scar tissue. He cut out all the scar tissue and removed the bone fragment. Mom got home much later than she was supposed to. It was around 3pm. (surgery started at 10:45am) Needless to say, Raymond and I were glad to see her and our non-blog-Mom because we were concerned about getting our dinner on time!

They gave Mom general anesthesia which made her pretty loopy and gave her an upset stomach. She finally started to feel better late last night and today is mostly her OLD self, except for an achy elbow. Raymond and I are taking turns sitting on her lap. If we angle ourselves just right we can both sit on her lap at once. Cozy for us, maybe not so cozy for Mom.

We'll have a lazy Sunday taking care of our Mom. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and healing light and purrs. Post-op doctor's appointment is on April 5th, so we will know more then. Doctor thinks Mom should be able to regain full range of motion. YAY!

For those of you who follow the weather, we have now had 21 days of rain here. We had over 6" of rain in the past 72 hours. Our town has been evacuated twice (Thursday and yesterday) due to flooding. Luckily we live in the "Upper Village" and are three blocks up hill from the flood plain. It's supposed to FINALLY be sunny on Monday. We sure hope so!

Photo Hunt: Cage(d)

Hi Friends! Today's Photo Hunt theme is "cage(d)". We found this photo from a couple years ago. (This is our old PTU, now we have a fancy soft-sided PTU) We can't remember WHY I was in the cage, maybe this was when we were getting new carpet and had to go stay at our Foster Mom's for the day.

Hope you are all having a great weekend! xoxo, Raymond

Frootbat Friday

The Mighty Frootbat ALWAYS gets what he wants. It's time to eat some gourmet cat greens! Nom nom nom!

Our blog Mom is having her elbow surgery today so please forgive us if we don't do much commenting for awhile. We're hoping to at LEAST do some visiting this weekend, but it's really going to depend on if Mom can help us with the computer or not. (Humans are such fragile creatures, aren't they?) Happy Friday friends!

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! It's been two weeks of rain rain rain in the garden here, so we are going to stroll in our indoor garden today. Are you ready?

Here is Raymond and my favorite crop, the Gourmet Cat Greens! This is the second planting and this photo is from a few days ago. Looks ready Mom!

Here's the same pot of greens today. MOM! We think it's TIME to eat these greens PLEASE!

These are our tomato and eggplant seedlings. (Eggplants are on the right) Soon these will be transplanted into little pots. Then Mom will harden them off by giving them a bit of outdoor time each day. When the temperatures are consistently in the 50's at night, these babies will go into the garden.

We saved the best for last! This is Fang. He lives with one of the gardeners who works where our Mom works. He's a rescue doggie, so he is a bit skittish at first. Once he gets to know you, he is very friendly. HI FANG!

We hope you enjoyed our indoor garden stroll today. We are sure hoping to get outside next week. By the way, our blog-Mom is having surgery on her fractured elbow tomorrow, so we aren't sure how much we will be blogging in the next few days. (suck it up, Mom! We need to blog!)

Don't forget to visit our friend Jonesie to see what the other Feline Gardeners are up to this week.  Happy Spring!

Turnabout Tuesday

Hi friends! Busby isn't the only Mancat who likes to nap in the Hepper Pod. I waited until he got out chased him out of the pod and jumped right in!

If my eyes weren't open you wouldn't even be able to see me in here!

Have a good Tuesday friends! xoxo, Raymond

Mancat Monday

Hi friends! The calendar says it's Spring, but the weather outside says it is still Winter here on the Central Coast of California.

On a stormy day like today, a smart MANCAT just needs to find a comfortable hide-y hole to nap in all day long.

Hope you are all in your happy place today! xoxo, Busby

Too Lazy to Post on Sunday

Hi Pals! Mom had to email Ann at Zoolatry to get another copy of our Wordy Wednesday Challenge artwork. Yep, she was looking for it last week and couldn't find it anywhere. Ann did a great job on it, so we hope you like it. Maybe we can use it next year for WWC 2012? MOL!

Hope you are having a mellow Sunday. We are having big rain storms at our house. Winter is going out with a splash around here.

It's Caturday.
This is my plan for today.

Hi friends! We hope you are all enjoying your weekend. This photo is actually from last weekend because in reality it is pouring rain here. Our Moms are getting a bit grumpy about it. Busby and I don't care if it rains, as long as we aren't disturbed by any thunder, we're fine.

Hope you are having a great Saturday! xo, Raymond

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hi friends! Remember the cat greens that we started a couple weeks ago?

It's HARVEST time! This grass was especially yummy, we think it tastes better because we grew it ourselves!

The garden is starting to shape up. We planted Kale, Chard, Lettuce and Carrots last weekend. Our Moms also went to the farmers market where they saw this GORGEOUS Tulips.

Seeing these, we know Spring is just around the corner! Please visit the other Feline Gardeners today. Look for the links on Jonesie's blog.

Thanks to everyone who concatulated us on our 500th post yesterday. We really appreciate every one of our friends on the interwebs. xoxo, Raymond and Busby

Wordy Wednesday Challenge 2011-Brothers & our 500th Post!

Hi friends! This is our first ever Wordy Wednesday Challenge and it's also our 500th blog post!! Our not so capable blog Mom misplaced the photo that Zoolatry photoshopped for our post today, so we scraped together a few other photos. Our word is "Brothers".

Most of you all ready know that we are REALLY brothers. Our Mom was the beautiful Nell. Here we are, with our Mom and our brother Leo. (he's the one on the right.) Can you tell which one is Raymond?

Having a Brother to play with all the time is great. Having a Brother is like having a built-in best friend.

Sometimes we disagree about things, but that's just part of being Brothers.

When people meet us, they are surprised that we are Brothers because we don't look very much alike.

Here's an interesting fact: We have only been apart three times in our whole lives. Yep. Three times in seven years. Once when Busby needed to go to the emergency Vet because he dislocated his toe. (he found it later...MOL!) Once when Raymond had his teeth cleaned. (and the Vet did the cleaning in her mobile office just outside our front door.) And one more time when Ray had to have his pee checked for crystals. Now that is some Brotherly love!

We really do love each other, and we feel fortunate to be a pair of Brothers who were adopted together and will be together the rest of our lives. (we think all kittens should be adopted in pairs!)

We hope we were wordy enough today! We had fun playing. Don't forget to check out the Cat blogosphere blog to see who else is playing the Wordy Wednesday Challenge today.

And thanks for helping us make it to 500 posts! We wouldn't have done it without you! xoxo, Raymond and Busby: Brothers!

Tongue on Tuesday

Hi friends! Some people think I look a lot like my Grandmom.

Well, we do both have blue eyes!

MOL! Grandmom is 91 years old. She likes having her photo taken about as much as we cats do!

Have a great Tuesday friends! xoxo, Busby

Mancat Monday

Hello friends! It's true that I'm a manly mancat, but I am also a member of the Society of Feline Gardeners. I was checking out my  crop of Renee's Garden Gourmet Cat Greens today and saw another REALLY handsome mancat in the window.

Dude. Don't mess with my grass!

Happy Monday friends! xoxo, Raymond

Frootbat Friday

**We just want you all to know, we are under a tsunami warning here in Capitola, HOWEVER, we will be at low tide when it is projected to hit and the waves shouldn't be more than six feet high. We're okay*

Mighty Frootbat rule #11: NEVER disturb the Mighty Frootbat when he is slumbering in his lair. Or you will be subjected to his slitty-eyed glare.

Happy Frootbat Friday friends! My Moms both say it's been a rough week, but I have NO idea what they are talking about because things have been pretty mellow here at the casa for Busby and I. Maybe it's a girl thing.

Thursday Garden Stroll

Hello friends! I was just taking a little sunbath. Welcome to the Thursday garden stroll. Some exciting things have been happening indoors in our garden. Yep, we have some baby plants growing from seed that we are starting indoors to be transplanted outside when the weather warms up. Let's take a look!

Remember these tomatoes and eggplants that we started? This photo is from March 4th.

This photo is from today! We have some lovely little tomatoes and eggplants! When they get a bit taller we will transplant them into small yogurt cups and then eventually they will move into our veggie garden outdoors. Don't worry! We know this stuff is not good for cats to eat. It has a cover over it all day so we don't nom on it.

We also started some gourmet cat grass seeds. This shot was taken on March 5th.

This photo was taken today! Soon we will be eating gourmet cat greens! We can hardly wait!

Don't forget that Renee's Garden is hosting a Kitty Photo Contest! Click here for details!

Have a great day friends! Don't forget to check out what the other Feline Gardners are up to. Visit Master Gardener Jonesie and follow the links at the bottom of her post.

Happy Gardening! xoxo, Raymond
