Hello friends! Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. Our Moms will be going to a service at at local cemetery today, to honor those men and women who gave their lives for us.
Busby and I would like to dedicate our blog post today to the two cats who came before us. This beautiful tabby girl is Toot Suite. She was our Mom's first cat. She was adopted from a family who were giving away kittens back in 1984. She was TWENTY years old when Busby and I came to live here at our forever home. She went to the bridge in 2006, at the age of twenty-two.
This handsome house panther is Alex. Mom adopted him from the Lake County Indiana animal shelter in 1985 when he was a wee kitten. Alex was a grand old mancat of twenty-three when he went to the bridge in 2008.
We're two cat brothers who live in a little house in Bloomington, Indiana. You can also follow us on Facebook! Welcome to our blog!

Caturday
Oh hello friends! (Or as Daisy would say-Oh HAI friends!) Are you enjoying your Caturday? I sure am! I'm just relaxing here on this scratcher thing Mom got at Trader Joe's. I've been lounging here pretty much ALL day.
Coincidentally, this happens to be Busby's favorite cat scratcher. Hee hee.
Yeah, IN YOUR FACE Busby!

Thursday Garden Report with Busby
Hello friends! It has been a pretty darn exciting week in the garden! Let's get right to it.
We got a beautiful little tree! As you know, we have a VERY small yard. Our Moms have been wanting a Japanese Maple to grow in a container. Well, this past week, one of our non-blogging Mom's co-workers GAVE us this Japanese Maple! It was in exchange for a cherry tree that we had that was going to grow way too big for our yard. Isn't it pretty?

Our Moms are big pesto fans, so they like to grow basil every year. This basil was looking pretty wimpy, but then we had some rain this week and suddenly it's looking better. We still think it's touch and go though. We usually grow it on the Southwest side of our house, but this year we are trying it on the North side of the house. It actually gets pretty good sun there, so we will keep our paws crossed and keep you posted on it's progress.
We leave you this week with a view of our garden snakes. No, they aren't real garden snakes! They are rocks that our friend Jaki Christeve painted for us. Mom is trying to get a little rock garden/succulent garden thing going in one part of the yard.

Happy Birthday Guido the Italian Kitty!
Basta Pasta! Who's this handsome fellow? This is our good friend GUIDO THE ITALIAN KITTY! Today is Guido's 4th birthday. Many of you "Start your day the Guido way" by reading Guido's weekly blog, the Guido Gazette.
Our Moms have actually hung out with Guido (and his wonderful Mama & his fur-siblings) in San Francisco. Did you know Guido is a certified therapy cat? He does volunteer work all over San Francisco. He is a cat who believes in giving back to the community.
Friends, please stop by Guido's bloggie and wish him a very Happy Birthday! He has super cute photos on it from his previous birthdays.
Paisano Guido, we hope you are having a purrtastic birthday today!

Slurpy Sunday and a Blogosphere Birthday
Mmmmm! Did someone say Grandma Lucy's Freeze Dried Lamb Treats?
SO awesome! (and no, we are not being paid to endorse the treats or Nip and Bones. We just love them both for free!)
Speaking of AWESOME, a very happy birthday today to the Cat Blogosphere's very own M.L.Sherwood! Thank you so much of all you do to keep the Cat Blogosphere going each day!

Behold the MIGHTY FROOTBAT! I'm holding my Mom captive and HYPNOTIZING her with my beautiful golden eyes. NO ONE can resist my hypnotic powers! In a moment Mom will get up, go to the kitchen and fetch me some delicious freeze dried lamb morsels. Oh, and maybe some for Busby too. I'm feeling magnanimous.

Thursday Garden Report with Raymond
Hey there friends! It's Thursday and that means it's time to take a look at our garden!
I mentioned last week that our yard is VERY small. Luckily for us, we have a rather large porch that faces South. It gets a lot of good sun. This Nasturtium is growing in a pot on our porch.
Here's a Calla Lily that is growing in the little strip of dirt next to our carport. Our neighbor has a lot of Calla Lilies, so some of them have started volunteering in our yard. We like that, FREE plants!
This is our garden frog. He lives in the back yard. He stays VERY still. He keeps the fake quail company.
In front of our house there is a narrow patch of dirt. Mom planted some sweet peas there and they are THRIVING! The purple ones are a variety called Cupani. They smell REALLY good. You have to keep cutting the flowers or else they will go to seed and stop blooming.

Mancat Monday
Hello friends! Can you believe it's Monday all ready?
Of course, Monday doesn't mean the same thing to us CATS as it does to our humans. But we can PRETEND to sympathize as they rush off to work.
Have a wonderful Monday friends! xoxo, Busby

Frootbat Friday
Hello friends! Behold the mighty FROOTBAT. I'm resting up. Our human Cousin is coming to visit this weekend and I need to save my energy. She likes to call me RAYMOOSHKA and she wants to squeeze me all the time. It takes a lot out of a guy!
What are your weekend plans? Whatever you are up to this weekend, we hope you have a good one! xoxo, Raymond

Thursday with Ray: Our Garden
Hello friends! I was just gazing out the window thinking about our friend Jonesie . Oh you know Jonesie! Jonesie is the founder emeritus of the Society of Feline Gardeners.
Busby and I are indoor cats, but we do enjoy looking at our garden from the window and snoopervising our Moms through the window screen. We have a small house on a very small lot, so our Moms have to be creative when it comes to our garden.
As you can see, we do a lot of container gardening here. We also have three raised beds, with a new one in the works. This past weekend my Moms had to dig out one of the raised beds to add gopher wire to the bottom of the bed. Last year a gopher ate all our heirloom tomatoes and several hollyhocks!
This is a photo of our succulent section. Mom is trying to do a little rock garden thing here.
This is our newest raised bed. It's got a couple of pretend quail living in it.
Hmmmm. At least I THINK they are pretend! Maybe if I stare at them long enough they will move?

***Just a note: we moved our list of favorite blogs down lower on our page. It's gotten to be ginormous as we've made new friends. We wanted to make room for other items on our right margin. Please visit the blogs on our list! They are all fun places to visit.
**pee ess** some Chinese pornography web site just posted about a zillion comments on our older blog posts with links to their site. So now we have to start approving comments before they are posted. UGH! Oh well, it'll be easier than going back and deleted a bunch of garbage from our blog, like we did for the past thirty minutes!

Your (Talky) Tuesday Tonkinese
Hello friends! Raymond and I got a kick of out some of the comments on our Saturday Photo Hunt post. YES! We are real biological brothers. Litter mates. We don't look alike, probably because we had different Dads. Did you know a litter of cats can have up to FOUR different Dads? Wow! We also had some questions about our RAW diet. We have been eating raw food for over a year now. Our Mom thinks our energy level has increased (um, great photo to go with this one Mom!) and that our coats are much more soft and shiny. We shed less too. Raymond, who used to be VERY itchy, is much less itchy and no longer licks patches in his fur.
Our Mom makes our food once a week. She refrigerates enough for a few days and freezes the rest to be thawed as needed. It sounds time consuming, but once you get the hang of the recipe, it only takes about thirty minutes a week to prepare the food.
The recipes my Mom uses comes from an excellent (and well known) book called "Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats". Our Moms first discovered this book a few years ago when our older brother Alex developed CRF. (He was 19 human years old at the time) They fed Alex a high carb diet that they read about in the book. He lived to be 23 years old!
Feeding raw food is not for everyone. If you think you are interested in a raw diet or in homeopathic remedies for cats and dogs, you can check out Dr Pitcairn's website
HERE . We think it's a great book for everyhuman, whether they want to feed raw or not. There are cool recipes for treats in the book too, that are cooked.
We're not being paid by anyone to write this post. We had a few cats ask us about our raw diet and we figured this was a good way to answer everycat at once.
Have a lovely Tuesday, xoxo, Busby
PS-Mom is golfing today so we may not be around to visit until late this afternoon. See you later!

Mancat Monday (new chair!)
Hey there friends! Our new chair arrived! My Moms ordered it about a month ago from a local store called "The Couch Potato". They picked out the style and then went through two big books of fabric to choose what the chair would be upholstered in. This is what they chose! Puss-Print!
Needless to say, Raymond and I LOVE the new chair. Now if only our Moms would serve us our food here. That would be purrfect! Bring me a nice freeze dried chicken liver please!
