*sigh* Yes, our Moms are getting ready to take yet ANOTHER trip. We'll have one more week of blogging and then they will be on the road. We sure hope our Auntie Barb is coming to watch us, she gives good belly rubs. (hey, I'm easy, what can I say?)
Happy Friday everyone! Mom is playing golf today, so we maybe coming to visit your blog later than normal today, or not at all. Believe me, it's NOT our fault! xoxo, Raymond

Thursday Garden Tour with Busby and Raymond
Hello friends! It's been another up and down week in the garden! As you know if you saw our post from Monday, the GOPHER made a meal of our mystery plant! However, many GOOD things are happening in the garden too. So let's start our tour! This lovely vine is called a Mandevilla. We've had it for a couple years now, growing on the front of our house. They usually don't do well where the winters get frosty (and we do get some frosty nights here in the Winter). However, ours is facing the South and is VERY close to the street, so it gets some good radiant heat. Each year we keep our fingers crossed that it will start to bud out in the Spring. So far, so good!
Here are a couple containers of Petunias that we have in the backyard. They seem VERY happy!
The Zinnias continue to bloom too. Mom has cut a couple small bouquets from them. They are attracting lots of butterflies and ladybugs.
GREAT news about Sunflowerzilla! The gopher has not managed to eat it (yet)! It just keeps growing and growing!
AND LOOK! Sunflowerzilla's bud has begun to OPEN! We are SO excited!
Here's a close up of the soon-to-be-flower! Next Thursday we should be posting a photo of a beautiful sunflower!

Tongue on Tuesday-Special Guest Edition
This is Pluma Morris. She's our friend Teri's doggie. She likes our Mom (A LOT) and gets very excited when she sees her. She also gets very licky.
See?!
Nice tongue action there, Pluma!
WE haven't met Pluma yet. We're curious about the woofies that we see walking past our front window, we're just not sure HOW curious we are.

Thursday Garden Report with Busby
Hello Garden lovers! Busby here with today's garden report. Well, guess who's back? Yep! The Gopher. He came up out of the ground when Mom was taking these photos. We think he ate the really big cosmos we have in the yard. If it's droopy tomorrow, we'll know for sure.
On the brighter side, Mom went to an arts & crafts fair last weekend and got a few garden adornments. Here's a little tiny birdhouse.
And here is something that is SUPPOSED to be a bird. It looks like a bottle opener to us.
Here are the Zinnias, looking good. Check out our pathetic lemon tree in the background. We aren't getting very much sun lately, maybe that's the problem? It has one lemon on it, about the size of a walnut.
Here's a MYSTERY plant. When Mom planted the seeds she should have kept the package so she would know what she planted. She thought this was going to be a Gerber Daisy, but obviously it isn't. Any of you gardeners know what this is? It has a cluster of little buds on it.
Here's Porcini, recovering from the SQUIRREL incident yesterday!

Sunflowerzilla is still growing! Mom took the advice of a few of our readers and staked Sunflowerzilla up so that it won't collapse under the weight of it's flower.
And here is the BUD on top of Sunflowerzilla. Mom had to hold the camera up over her head to take this photo, because the plant is taller than her.
Thanks for checking out our garden today! Don't forget to visit some of the other feline gardeners on the blogosphere today! Especially the QUEEN of the the feline gardeners, JONESIE ! xoxo, Busby

Watchful Wednesday
LOOK! (click to biggify the photos-Mom took them with her cell phone so they aren't great)There's SOMETHING sitting on our garden pig! Watch out Porcini!
That BIRD sure has a bushy tail!
It's a SQUIRREL! Do you suppose it's a FLYING squirrel?!
We've never seen a squirrel drinking out of our bird bath before, and we have certainly never seen a squirrel riding on our garden pig! Pretty exciting stuff!
Happy Wednesday friends! We got an email yesterday that said we were chosen as one of the top Fifty Cat Blogs of 2010 ! Thanks to whoever nominated and voted for us!

Your TOESday Tonkinese
ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz.............
Huh?! Oh HI friends! I was just having a snooze. Have you ever wondered why we have that weird unusable toe-looking thing? You know, that little extra toe thing? It doesn't even have a claw on it. What the heck is it for?
Speaking of claws, my smashed claw is much better and all healed after the BAG monster incident. My Mom was going to clip my nails last night, but they are all still pretty short. I think I ran them all to the nubbins running from that bag monster!

Mini Mancat Monday
Hi friends! Happy Mancat Monday! Here I am as a little kitten boy, just THREE WEEKS old! My eyes hadn't changed color yet. Since our Moms were looking at kittens on Saturday, just thought I'd remind them who the cutest kitten EVER is! By the way, in case you missed yesterday's post, our friend MANGO had a seizure on Saturday night. He could sure use our purrs and support. If you have time, drop by his bloggie to send him some love.
Happy Monday everyone! xo, Raymond

Easy Sunday: Flashback
Hello friends! Our Moms were looking at kittens yesterday at the Farmer's Market. The Santa Cruz County Animal Services people have adoptable cats and kittens at the Farmer's Market every week. I thought today might be a good day to whip out a cute photo of younger ME, just to remind them of the cuteness that all ready lives here! Look how short my whiskers are! They were not quite grown in yet. But the cuteness is definitely fully developed!
***urgent edit***Please purr for our friend Mango who had a seizure. Mango is a big Mastiff doggie and any support or advice you could give his Mom is appreciated. We love you Mango Man!
Happy Sunday friends! xoxo, Busby

Frootbat Friday - the Haiku Edition
A mighty frootbat
Relaxes in a sun beam
Andrés is his name
Okay, I know, the week is nearly over and today is the last day that I am making Busby call me Andrés in honor of Andrés Iniesta. You know, the Spanish soccer player (or as MOST of the world calls it-FOOTBALL) who scored the winning goal in the World Cup final. It's been a GREAT week for me! Oh Busby, please bring me some tapas & sangria. PRONTO! (hee hee!)
Have a great Friday friends!

Thursday Garden Report with Busby
Hello friends and garden lovers and garden loving friends! Pardon my back, but I am snoopervising the garden. Are you ready for this week's tour? Let's go! Here's a little hanging basket of petunias and alyssum on our front porch. My Mom refuses to spend big money on those hanging baskets that are all ready put together. She planted this stuff herself. Sometimes the baskets do well, and other times, not so much!
Here we are in the backyard. The good news is that the gopher seems to have moved on to someone else's yard. He ate a few cosmos and some of the smaller sunflowers.
The Zinnias bloomed, as predicted! We have had a couple nice sunny days in a row, which has helped the garden grow. We were stuck under a BIG fog bank here for several days. That's what happens when you live by the ocean.
Here's a close up of one of the Zinnias. They're pretty! We planted them from seed, so we had no idea what colors we would get.
We have some nice Marigolds too. Our garden isn't very organized, we have all different colors together. The bright blue flowers are called Lobelia.
If you look VERY close, you will see a tiny ladybug on one of SUNFLOWERZILLA's leaves. This must be a baby ladybug because it has NO spots. Our Grandmother used to tell our Mom that you could tell how old a ladybug is by counting it's spots.
We're pleased to report that Sunflowerzilla is still growing! The gopher did NOT eat it! It continues to get taller and taller.
